About
How do we learn a landscape? Beyond its geography, considering its histories, infrastructures, weather, borders, inhabitants, and the systems that determine what can be known about it — and what those same systems, in the process, leave unaccounted.
Following the work of emerging Black technologists, artists, researchers, and thinkers, Black Ecologies: Land, Memory, and the More-than-Human is a process-based collection. The works are unfinished and exploratory, moving between observation and imagination as ways of learning a landscape, grounded throughout in Black studies.
Join us at The Arts Center on Governors Island NYC on October 17th 12pm - 4pm to engage with the work.
RSVP!To view the readings, artists, and other work that inspired our collective and individual practices, please view our reading list on are.na.
